If you know Heide you know what an amazing person she truly is. She's a dedicated school teacher,
a shining star in our community and a loving friend. Above all, Heide is a mother of two beautiful daughters
Genevieve(5yrs) and Ava(3yrs) and an amazing wife to her husband Ric. Most of us are aware of Heide's previous
bout with breast cancer just two years ago. We witnessed Heide and her amazing attitude carry her through
countless doctor visits, surgery and chemotherapy. We were all thrilled and thankful to witness her recovery.
This past week Heide made a routine visit the hospital to have a chest x-ray. Unexpectedly, Heide was confronted
with unfortunate news that the cancer had returned and had spread to her lungs and bones. It's practically
inconceivable that she should have to endure this yet again. Thankfully Heide is young and very strong. She is
currently seeking out all of options to treat her condition. We all know this is a time to move fast and work together to
keep her spirits high and stress level low. Due to Heide and Ric's inability to maintain a regular work schedule there
will soon be mounting costs. If you would like to donate money to help pay for the various treatment and recovery
expenses or donate your time to lend Heide a hand, click one of the links that appear to the left of this screen.

| A Truly amazing person and friend... "You will be missed and never forgotten!" |
I’m sad to share that Heide Genevieve Rutten Medina peacefully passed
away this evening at 9:55pm Friday April 30th 2010. She painlessly slipped into a comfortable sleep while
surrounded by friends and family. She told us she felt warm love channeled from all her wonderful friends and could
see The Light. We will be announcing a Celebration of Life Ceremony on this website once we have the dates
confirmed. We are planning a ceremony in both CA and ND so that everyone can share their love for this amazing
person.

Celebration of Life Ceremony
Celebration of Life
Heide's California Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at Nestldown in
the Los Gatos Mountains. Please arrive by 12:30 as the celebration will begin promptly at
1:00pm. The Ceremony will be in a shaded forest setting so bring a light covering and
please wear sensible shoes for semi trail walk. This is a family celebration since Heide
touched and inspired people of all ages and we welcome and encouraged you to bring your
children - there is a beautiful play area, a working train and we’ll provide supervision.
This is a celebration to honor our time with Heide and the colorful memories of we have of
her. Please share this by wearing bright colors inspired by her smile, eyes and personality.
Wine, Beer & refreshments will be served at the main house after the ceremony.

The North Dakota Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 22 at
10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Devils Lake.
